Handcrafted Needle Felted Unicorn Decoration ‘Fiesta’

A special woollen unicorn from Wales. Her name ‘Fiesta’ in a Spanish name meaning ‘Carvival’ or ‘Festival’.

This cute little Unicorn decoration has been handmade with wool from Alice, Hagrid and Mango the sheep. She was made by me and the sheep on our farm in North Wales with a process called needle felting. Hagrid’s super curly fleece became the mane and tail of the unicorn and a mix of Alice and Mango’s fleeces was used to build the head and body of the unicorn. To create coloured wool some of Hagrids white fleece was washed and then popped in a large bubbling pan, a little magic dye was added and ‘poof’ the fleece turned into all the colours of the rainbow!

All Fiesta’s facial features and ears are very carefully needle felted by hand, the made and tail are also attached by needle felting. Her wooden legs are made from driftwood gathered about from Criccieth and Nant Gwythern beaches the legs are attached with wool and a tiny amount of glue. The wire-based horn is threaded through and wrapped with wool. The horn can be gently bent to manipulate the shape. As can the tail which also contains a small wire.

This Unicorn is free-standing and looks super on a bookshelf or mantlepiece.

Fiesta is the smallest of the Unicorns currently on my website but she is perfectly formed and might just be my favourite of the herd. She is super cute and would be a perfect gift for any unicorn lover. I like the Unicorns as alternative Christmas decorations too! Completely natural, ethical, kind to sheep and the planet.

This listing is for the exact 1 unicorn pictured in the photos. Please note in some photos she is pictured with other unicorns and stars which are not included in the price but can be bought separately.

She is presented in a simple cardboard gift box – a perfect present for someone or perhaps for yourself!

The only parts that are not wool from my flock are driftwood legs and wire within the horn and tail and the gift packaging.

This Unicorn has been made to be a decoration only. It is not intended to be a toy and will not withstand play.

Size – Unicorn – Approx 15cm length including the fluffy tail. 14cm high from horn to base of leg.

All my needle felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are crafted with a lot of love and care and not rushed so they take a surprising amount of time to make. That does not include the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing or spinning!  They are a labour of love and all the proceeds from the sale of all my items go directly back into the flock to keep them well-fed and healthy.

Please note – This is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and contains a wire within the horn and tail so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please do not give to children under 3 years old.

A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

Post Packaging In an effort to be more eco-friendly most of the outer post packaging I send items in is reused aka recycled packaging that we have received parcels in ourselves or that has been gifted to me to put to good use.

RETURNS If you are unhappy with your item please contact me within 5 days of receiving it. All items must be returned in their original unused condition and buyer pays return postage.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
