Felt spider keyring handmade with natural wool
These spooky little felt spider keyrings are perfect for Halloween. They have been brought to life with sheep’s wool and a sprinkling of magic! I call these spiders ‘scrap spiders’ because they are made using leftover bits of wool, the long dangly legs are made of handspun wool that are remnants from various peg loom rug and cushion projects, the ‘offcuts’ – given a new lease of life! These two spiders are attached to keyrings and would make perfect Halloween gifts or stocking fillers for any spider lovers out there! I have a few of these spiders hanging in my workshop where they are very at home. As you can see in the photos Harley the sheep is a big fan of these spiders too!
This listing is for 1 spider from the photos they are both very similar and one will be sent at random. The spiders are each presented in a simple card gift box – a perfect present for someone or perhaps for yourself!
The spiders are made from natural wool from my sheep the only parts that are not wool from my flock are the cotton twine and keyring that they hang from. The cotton and the metal keyrings are sourced from small British suppliers on Etsy. I shear all our sheep myself with traditional blade shears and all the fleeces are processed by hand here at our home.
Size – Spiders are approx 7.5cm high (with legs) (with string and keyring 18cm total length)
I dreamt up these dangly spiders in 2020 as a fun thing to make with my daughter Elsie as both she and her brother love spiders! They are such a good use for all the scraps of dark brown wool offcuts I have lying around. Living in an old stone house with old outbuildings and a big wooden barn surrounded by fields we see a lot of spiders. My favorite are their glistening cobwebs that decorate the grass in the fields on a morning.
All my needle-felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are crafted with a lot of love and care. They are not rushed so they take a surprising amount of time to make not including the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing or spinning the little legs!
Please note – This is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please DO NOT give to children under 3 years old.

A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
