Fleece, Fibre & Yarn

We offer raw and washed fleece, hand sorted locks, hand-drum carded wool batts and a small amount of hand-spun yarn/wool.
There is no woollen mill in North Wales or anywhere remotely close so the fleeces are washed, sorted, carded and spun by hand here at home - we even shear the sheep by hand! Blade shearing - like spinning - is very meditative and peaceful - but after the first 5 sheep or so I always think next year I'll just hire someone to do it in a 10th of the time it takes me..but I never do! Hand-shearing is a lot better for the sheep and the fleece as you are fully in control of how close you shear and so cuts to the sheep are rare as are second cuts to the fleece. We don't use and marker sprays, coloured raddles or pesticide dips or sprays on our sheep. Their fleeces are chemical free and natural.
It's a lovely feeling to shear your own sheep and work their greasy raw fleece into something that many others can enjoy too.
