Tatty joined the flock on the 28th September 2019 along with her half-sisters Florence, Jasmine, Jemima and half-brother Bruno. They all came from a fibre flock in South West Wales and share the same dad who is a Coloured Leicester longwool ram called Kennedy. I had dreamt of adding some Coloured Leicester Longwools to the flock and then I saw these beautiful crosses that had been bred for fibre and I decided to spend some of my savings on buying a couple of ewe lambs and a ram lamb. When I say all the many adorable lambs it was very hard to choose who to take home but there were two almost black ewe lambs who were particularly striking and Tatty was one of those. I really loved the look of her lamb fleece and couldn’t resist her white moustache. In the end, I came home with 5 lambs in total. Tatty was the first of the bunch who I named. She was called Tatty because she looked a bit tatty in an endearing way with her little felted dreadlocks on her head and her tangled looking fleece. She has grown into a stunning yearling and her tatty black fleece is growing back the most beautiful steel silver grey colour. Like all her siblings she is a very friendly girl who craves human attention and cuddles. Tatty is one of those quiet sheep who somehow despite her beautiful looks always gets overlooked on photos. This year I need to make a point of taking more snaps of her.
