Description
Handmade felted fleece wool seat pad. Sheep friendly, leather free & vegetarian. Made from 100% natural coloured wool.
This wild looking seat pad has been wet felted to create a sheepskin style mini rug or seat pad. It is made from the fleece of a Torddu Welsh Badgerface sheep that comes from a flock local to me. Typically Torddu fleeces fetch very little money when farmers sell them to the wool board so the sale of this seat pad will support 2 flocks of sheep and bring a little more value to these beautiful sustainable fleeces. This was handmade at our home by myself.. It it a beautiful mix of light and dark grey colours. The texture is soft in places and varies to some more hairy patches but if feels very soft and cosy to sit upon and is absoloutly perfect to place upon a wooden chair or bench!
There may be the odd bit of natural vegetable matter such as little pieces of hay imbedded deep within woven fleece. All part of the natural charm and very normal to find amongst the fleece of a sheep!
Perfect as a gift or treat for your home! This is a unique piece of art and there will never be another exactly the same! It is wonderfully sustainable and renewable and a great kind alternative to sheepskin rugs.
If you have and questions please get in touch.
Measurements are approx 52-56 cm diameter on the lock side, slightly smaller on the felted side. The shape is an irregular circular shape. As mentioned above, this is handmade and is not a perfectly uniform shape like a factory produced item would be, it is natural and unique. And unlike most factory produced items this is eco-friendly, biodegradable, traceable right back to the individual sheep who grew the wool and the sale of it will directly support my sheep flock and own family.
As wool is a wonderful natural product from a happy sheep and has been completely processed by my own hands there is most likely still the odd grass seed and whisp of hay to be found amongst the fibres though I have done my best to remove them. This is the beauty of nature and sheep 🙂

A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

We keep a well loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a fulltime mum and slave to sheep! In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
