Handmade beautiful natural felted fleece / vegetarian sheepskin seat pads 100% wool made from Nora’s fleece.
Nora is the big cuddly Greyface Dartmoor cross Valais Blacknose sheep in the photos. She lives on our smallholding with many other woolly friends who have a home for life here. These beautiful felted fleece seat pads / covers were handmade at our home using part of Nora’s fleece. They look amazing draped across a chair or sofa, or placed upon a bench or seat! The texture is fairly coarse but not itchy and these do shed.
There is natural vegetable matter such as little pieces of hay imbedded deep within the locks/felt. All part of the natural charm and very normal to find amongst the fleece of a big hairy sheep like Nora!
Perfect as a gift or treat for your home! These will last and last and due to the nature of Nora’s particular fleece they are very durable and the locks shouldn’t felt down or bobble like a finer fleece might.
Price is for 1 seat pad, please view the last photo and let me know which you woul like, they each have a slightly different shape & lock structure but are equally lovely. If buying both postage can be combined!
If you have and questions please get in touch.
Measurements are approx 56 x 56 cm on the hairy/fleece side varying as the shape is irregular and the actual felted area on the underside will be smaller. As mentioned above, this is handmade and is not perfectly uniform like a factory produced item would be, it is natural and unique. And unlike most factory produced items this is eco-friendly, biodegradable, traceable right back to the individual sheep who grew the wool and the sale of it will directly support my sheep flock and own family.
As wool is a wonderful natural product from a happy sheep and has been completely processed by my own hands there is most likely still the odd grass seed and whisp of hay to be found amongst the fibres though I have done my best to remove them. This is the beauty of nature and sheep 🙂
A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.
Any questions just send me a message.
Postage is set to MAINLAND UK only but I do ship worldwide please send me an email before hand if you are a remote or overseas buyer – many thanks.
If you have any problems with your order please contact me and I will do my best to help.
We keep a well loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a fulltime mum and slave to sheep! In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
You can learn more about us and meet the sheep on our website www.patchworksheep.co.uk and follow our sheep on Facebook @patchworksheep or Instagram patchworksheep_
