Handmade Felted Mushroom Keyring

A cute little red mushroom keyring made from 100% wool that I have dyed and needle felted into the shape of a mushroom and then threaded through a length of strong waxed jute twine and fastened to a keyring. A lovely and lightweight keyring, not heavy or clunky. It would make a sweet little gift and practical keyring and each sale supports my woolly flock. The mushroom itself is natural, biodegradable, and made with wool from lovely Mango and the little spots on the mushroom are made using hairy wool from Mint. I shear all our sheep myself with traditional blade shears and all the fleeces are processed by hand here at our home.

Mango is an elderly Texel cross sheep who is very friendly and very greedy. I gave her a home when her last owner moved away and needed to rehome her pet sheep. I wasn’t sure what to do with Mango’s fleece, it is not the sort of fleece I am used to working with but I wanted to make use of her wool and help Mango help sustain the flock and I discovered that her fleece is absolutely perfect for needle felting! Both hers and Xena’s fleeces are the best of all my sheep’s fleeces for needle felting. They make fantastic solid needle felt – ideal for hanging decorations and bases for needle felted animals.

All my needle felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are crafted with a lot of love and care and not rushed so they take a surprising amount of time to make. That is not including the time spent shearing the sheep, washing the wool, carding, dyeing and spinning!

The only part that is not wool from my flock is the jute twine and keyring that the mushroom hangs from.

Size – Mushroom is approx 4.5cm high (with string and keyring 11cm total length)

Please note – This is NOT a toy. It has been created for display and decoration purposes only. It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please do not give to children under 3 years old.

A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

Combined Postage I do combine postage on multiple items if it is not done automatically at checkout I will refund you any overcharges after checkout.

Post Packaging In an effort to be more eco-friendly most of the outer post packaging I send items in is reused aka recycled packaging that we have received parcels in ourselves or that has been gifted to me to put to good use.

OVERSEAS BUYERS will incur an extra postage charge which may vary depending on location.

RETURNS If you are unhappy with your item please contact me within 5 days of receiving it. All items must be returned in their original unused condition and buyer pays return postage.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
