Handspun wool rug yarn, super soft, thick and chunky from Puzzle the sheep!
Completely natural and undyed wool. Spun in the raw to maintain the character of the fleece. Ideal for peg loom weaving or super chunky knitting. Puzzle is a Soay cross Jacob sheep her fleece is lovely and bouncy and soft of a short-staple and varies from beautiful tight curls to more straight fiber with some kemp present throughout. There is 700g in total with an approximate total length of 90meters. I spun the beautiful grey/brown wool first and then the white parts of her fleece which are peppered with flakes of the brown/grey colour. So if you were to weave this as it is you would have a two-tone woven piece – a dark section that gradually becomes predominantly white.
Due to the way this has been spun straight from the raw fleece without combing or carding there may be some grass seeds and whisps of hay present though I have tried to remove them as I came across them whilst spinning.
Our sheep are solely a fiber and pet flock and each sale directly sustains them throughout the year. I shear them all myself with traditional hand shears and all the fleeces are processed by hand here at our home.
The price is for the whole skein of 700g/90m as in the photos.
A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare, colourful flock of sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep into the food chain and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a fulltime mum and slave to sheep! In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
