Description

Herdwick Sheep Keyring Handmade

A cute little grey Herdwick sheep keyring handmade from 100% natural wool. The sheep is made by a process called needle felting. Once complete he is attached to a length of strong waxed jute twine and fastened to a keyring. A lovely and lightweight keyring, not heavy or clunky. It would make a sweet little gift and everyday keyring – the sale of which directly supports my woolly flock. The little sheep himself is natural, biodegradable, and made with actual Herdwick wool from Mani (grey wool) and a small amount of Swaledale wool for the white elements including the dangly handspun wool legs. I shear all our sheep myself with traditional blade shears and all the fleeces are processed by my hand here at our home.

All my needle felted items are very solidly felted with carefully added details. They are hand-crafted with a lot of love and care and not rushed so they take a surprising amount of time to make. More so when you factor in the time spent tending the sheep, shearing the sheep, washing their wool, carding, dyeing and spinning – they are handmade in the truest sense of the word.

This listing is for the exact little sheep in the photos.

The only part that is not wool from my flock is the jute twine and keyring that the sheep hangs from.

I will sent the sheep wrapped in a little cardboard gift box so he would make a lovely pressie.

Size – Herdwick sheep is approx 6.5cm in length nose to tail and his height with string and keyring is approx 12cm

Please noteThis is NOT a toy.  It is made from small needle felted wool pieces and hairy textured wool and so could pose a hazard for babies or small children. Please do not give to children under 3 years old.

I always make every effort to show the true colours of items in my photos and website photos are never enhanced but sometimes colours may vary due to different monitor settings and lighting.

A lot of time, care and love go into all my items they are all individually made one at a time by just 1 pair of hands – from caring for and shearing the sheep, washing the wool and crafting an item to the packaging and posting – handmade in the truest sense of the word.

We keep a well-loved, high welfare flock of pet and rescue sheep on the Llyn Peninsular in North Wales. Our sheep are a part of the family and each is known by name. All our wool and makes are vegetarian-friendly as we do not breed or sell sheep for the meat market and our sheep live out their natural lives with us. I am a full-time mum and shepherdess. In my (none existent!) free time I make things from wool from the sheep in order to sustain them.
