Sandy was born here in 2010 making her one of our older flock members. She had a few beautiful lambs here in her younger years including Poppy, Daisy and Daffodil. In 2014 I was struggling to juggle work and my flock and so I sold 5 ewes to some local smallholders to start our their flock. Sandy was one of these ewes. This was an awful decision to make and to this day I do regret letting them go but at the same time, I understand that everything happens for a reason… I probably wouldn’t be where I am now or have most of the sheep we have now if I hadn’t made some of the choices I regret in the past. But there was a silver lining as on the 21st Feb 2018 Sandy rejoined our flock to live out the rest of her days in retirement here with her 3 daughters. Sadly the other 4 sheep who Sandy left with were no longer in this world so they couldn’t return here with Sandy… but she did bring a friend with her, Peanut the Shetland sheep. In 2019 Sandy’s fleece was chosen by a local lady to make a felted fleece rug on a day workshop with me. Her fleece felted beautifully and is much adored by its owner. Sandy has never been a very friendly sheep even after all these years she doesn’t want much to do with anyone. This might be why I have very few photos of her. In spite of her pretty looks, she isn’t a sheep who likes to pose for the camera.
